The Norman Seiden Multidisciplinary Program for Advanced Degrees in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

The program operates within an inter-departmental framework with the participation of the following faculties: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine, Materials Science and Engineering.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The science of nanometric systems and the technology derived from it combine knowledge from various fields that are studied and researched within the university in various faculties. In recent years, there has been a scientific boom, followed by technological development that is expressed in the application of nanotechnology in many fields. Nanoparticles are used in medicine – in diagnostics and treatment. There are great expectations for the future as knowledge of the interactions between biological and synthetic systems at the nanoscale in the human body advances. Advanced technologies are applying nanotechnology in various fields from optoelectronic devices to water treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Technion views the development of research and teaching in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology as a high priority and invests significant resources in advancing this field. The Russell Berrie Institute for Nanotechnology has been established, and significant collaborations take place between researchers from different disciplines in studying the scientific aspects of organization and functionality in natural and synthetic systems at the nanometric scale, as well as in applying these principles in technological development.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nAll Technion faculty members are potential supervisors for an advanced degree in the Norman Seiden Multidisciplinary Graduate Program in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n


\nThe program allows advanced degree studying even if the student has a previous degree in a field or faculty that is different from that of the supervisor.<\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n
