Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

\nGraduate studies at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering allow students to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees through several tracks offered within the faculty\u2019s areas of specialization: Structural Engineering, Hydrodynamics and Water Resources, Geotechnics, Materials Performance and Construction Technology, Construction Management, Transportation and Highway Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Agricultural Engineering.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The degree awarded to students who hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and are enrolled in a research track (which includes a thesis or final project) is: “Master of Science in Civil Engineering (name of specialization)”<\/strong>. Students in the above tracks who do not hold an Engineering degree and are required to complete relevant supplementary studies will be awarded the degree: “Master of Science”<\/strong> only (see below). In some tracks, supplementary studies are required based on the student’s academic background.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is also a non-thesis track available in several areas. Students with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering who complete a non-thesis track will be awarded the degree: “Master of Engineering in \u2026 (name of specialization)”<\/strong>. In addition, students may pursue a non-thesis Master\u2019s degree as part of the Technion\u2019s interdisciplinary ME General<\/strong> program.<\/span><\/p>\n

In special cases, when a student is pursuing a Master’s degree in a field that is significantly different from their undergraduate studies and is not required to complete the full prerequisites for a Bachelor\u2019s degree in the field of the intended Master\u2019s (aside from essential courses for continuing their studies), the Graduate Studies Committee may decide at the beginning of their studies that the student will be awarded the degree “Master of Science”<\/strong> without further specification.<\/span><\/p>\n
