Int\u2019l candidates will be required to pass the GRE examination or apply for an exemption. For details regarding the exemptions please click\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.technion.ac.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GRE-Criteria-for-examption.pdf\">here<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. All candidates must meet the following conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Outstanding achievements in graduate studies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Achievements in undergraduate degree would have enabled acceptance to studies for a research master\u2019s degree in the academic department in which they wish to study towards the PhD degree.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The topic for the exploratory research will be in the planned area of research for the PhD, and the advisor for the exploratory research will continue on as well.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">High GRE scores (for candidates who studies abroad).<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #002147;\">Study Requirements<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Students accepted for the exploratory research track, will be required to conduct limited research and submit a paper, and undergo an oral exam by a committee comprised of the advisor(s) and two faculty members. The advisor and the examiners will provide their evaluations as to whether the student may be accepted to the PhD. The Graduate Studies Committee at the department will recommend continuation to the PhD based on these evaluations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #002147;\"><strong>Study Duration<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Studies start at the beginning of the semester, and will be completed in up to two semesters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #002147;\"><strong>Scholarships and Tuition<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0For non scholarship students the\u00a0 tuition will be 10% of tuition per semester.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Students may be eligible for scholarships in accordance with the recommendation of the academic department.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Exploratory Research (Supplementing a thesis) International students who graduated with non-research Master\u2019s degrees or (integrated) five year degrees from accredited universities, who are interested in studying toward a PhD degree at Technion,\u00a0in the same or in a similar field, may apply for a special track in which they will conduct an exploratory research work.
