{"id":6233,"date":"2025-02-10T10:50:38","date_gmt":"2025-02-10T10:50:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grad-new.web3dev.technion.ac.il\/?page_id=6233"},"modified":"2026-01-07T13:12:35","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T13:12:35","slug":"scholarship-duration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/graduate.technion.ac.il\/en\/scholarship-duration\/","title":{"rendered":"Scholarship Duration"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #002147;\">Scholarship duration<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The scholarships at Technion are awarded in monthly portions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A student may receive 1-6 scholarship portions in a given month.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The number of scholarship portions is determined by the academic unit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Each month of receiving a scholarship will be counted as a full month (as part of the scholarship duration for the current degree), regardless of the number of scholarship portions given in the same month.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A scholarship recipient who receives confirmation for extension of the scholarship duration, is required to submit the thesis at the end of the extension period.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.technion.ac.il\/en\/scholarship-criteria\/\">Guidelines for presence at Technion and work while receiving a scholarship and scholarship extension\u00a0period<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #002147;\"><br \/>\nScholarship duration<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Scholarship duration\u00a0of a\u00a0student\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>master\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0degree is up to 24 months of scholarship during the time allocated for his course of study.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Scholarship duration\u00a0of a\u00a0student\u00a0for\u00a0\u00a0<strong>PhD <\/strong><strong>in the ordinary track<\/strong>\u00a0degree is up to 42 months of scholarship during the time allocated for his course of study.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Scholarship duration\u00a0of a student for\u00a0<strong>PhD in the direct track<\/strong>\u00a0(<span id=\"result_box\" class=\"short_text\" lang=\"en\">The months are counted from the beginning of the Master\u2019s degree course of studies<\/span>) and for a student for\u00a0<strong>PhD in the special track<\/strong>\u00a0is up to 60 months of scholarship during the time allocated for his course of study.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Information about scholarship duration of a student under <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.technion.ac.il\/en\/exploratory-research-supplementing-a-thesis\/\"><strong>exploratory research track (supplementing a thesis)<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #002147;\"><br \/>\nScholarship Extension Period<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An extension to the scholarship period is at the discretion of the Graduate Studies Departmental Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>MSc<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Extension of up to 6 months (6-A).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>PhD<\/strong><strong>in the ordinary track,\u00a0in the direct track and in the special track\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Extension of up to 12<strong>*<\/strong>\u00a0months (6-O;
