Submission of the thesis – before the exam

Before submitting the thesis

  1. The completion of the course study requirements and the language requirements will be considered (ensuring that all the grades have been updated and the final GPA is not less than 75).
  2. It will be ensured that at least two weeks but no more than one year has passed since the date on which the seminar lecture was given. (Based on the regulations – the thesis must be submitted within one year from the date on which the seminar lecture was given. In the research/ Comprehensive Engineering Project track, the seminar lecture must be given during the last year of the course of study, at least  two weeks  before the submission of the thesis to the school. In the final paper track, the seminar lecture must be given by the date of the submission of the thesis).
  3. If you took courses in excess of the requirements and you would like to classify them as extra courses, for the submission of the thesis, please contact Studies Office in the Graduate School, at phone number: 04-8292737 or E-mail.
    Extra courses cannot be addressed after the submission of the thesis.

  4. A Pdf thesis file (one file including the Hebrew part and the English part) in its final version must be sent no later then two days  before the submission of the thesis and email confirmation must be received before uploading the final thesis to My Thesis. The PDF file  should be sent by email to Graduation.
    Please note, that emailing the PDF file of the thesis does not fulfill the requirement of submission of the thesis.
  5. After the exam committee is approved by the graduate school, the student will be able to upload the thesis and the submission documents to My Thesis.

Thesis will not be accepted unless there is an Exam Committee approved by the School.

 

Submission of the thesis

When the thesis is ready for submission, and the Exam Committee is approved, the documents and the PDF file of the thesis should be uploaded to My Thesis.

The submission of the thesis will include the following documents (a missing document may delay the thesis acceptance):

  1. Please check and approve your personal details in My Thesis.
  1. An approval from the advisor for the thesis submission. If there are co- advisors, they will also approve the submission of the thesis. There is no special form for the approval, and the approval may be provided in handwriting/ printed, provided that it is signed. The approval can be sent from the official (institute) e-mail of the advisor. E-mails from a private e-mail account (gmail,yahoo etc.) will not be accepted.
  2. An approval from the advisor for giving the seminar. The approval can be sent from the official (institute) e-mail of the advisor. E-mails from a private e-mail account (gmail,yahoo etc.) will not be accepted.
  3. The seminar publication in the technion calendar.A screen shot of the seminar publication can be uploaded.
  4. If the words “faculty requirement – met” appear on the transcript, confirmation must be received from the departmental Graduate Studies Secretary of the fulfillment of the said requirement and uploaded.
  5. The PDF thesis file including the Hebrew part and the English part. The PDF file will be sent to the examiners by the graduate school.
  6. If the research title is changed – the form to change the research title must be attached, and signed by the advisor.
  7. If the thesis or part of it was published in journals, a list of publications will be uploaded.

After the thesis submission is approved by the Graduation Procedures Office, the Accounts Office of Students will be notified. For students who have a tuition balance, the Accounts Office will contact the student in order to settle a payment debt.

The final exam can be held as long as the debt is not settled.

Please note: According to the Technion’s management decision, a delay in the submission of the thesis or the required documents, will result in additional tuition.
