  • Scholarship Portions Application Form – students will receive information and a line to the relevant form with the admission letter

  • Recommendation form. This form is to be completed by the individuals providing the recommendations – please provide them with the link. Recommenders may send the recommendation without the form directly to the Graduate Addmission officeCandidates for a PhD are required to find an advisor before applying. It is recommended that students consult with a graduate studies coordinator in the department regarding if and what the requirements of the academic department are, in addition to those of the Graduate School.A number of days after the forms are completed and the registration fees are paid, an email will be sent confirming your candidacy, as well as instructions for the delivery of additional documents.As preparation, please read Sections 3 and 4 below, which specify the additional forms that will be required based on the degree to which you are registering and your academic background.

Advisor – please contact an advisor prior to applying to the following programs: Biology, Civil Engineering (For all programs except Transportation and Geo-Information ), Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (candidates without may be considered under some conditions) , Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering ,Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Biotechnology (the Interdisciplinary Program), Education in Science and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Autonomous Systems and Robotics, Nano Science, and Medicine.

Transcripts and Diplomas – A certified and official transcript and diplomas or confirmations of eligibility of each of the degrees, including the GPA translated officially to English or Hebrew. Applicants who have not yet graduated will send the current transcript. Candidates who have completed their studies at Technion do not need to send these documents

Ranking – Your place in class is to be submitted by candidates who have not graduated from Technion if available.

C.V. – For the following programs: Electrical Engineering, MBA, Education in Science and Technology, Physics, System Engineering, Autonomous Systems and Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Nano Science and Medicine.

Recommendations – 3 recommendations are required for Mechanical Engineering, one of them should be from the prospective advisor. 2 recommendations are required for: Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (Behavioral Science), Autonomous Systems and Robotics, Nano Science, Aeronautics, Architecture, Physics, Medicine and Materials Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering (one recommendation is required, it can be from a relevant place of work) .

GRE – For the following programs: Aerospace Engineering, Nano Science, Electrical Engineering,   Autonomous Systems and Robotics. For Mechanical Engineering applicants may require a waiver, must have a recommendation from the future advisor. Applicants for Mechanical Engineering from non English speaking countries might be required to take a TOEFL test instead . For the department of Chemistry, applicants might be required to take the GRE, depending upon the decision of the committee flowing the interview.

GMAT – For MBA only, applicants may take the GRE test instead.

Additional Documents for Aerospace Engineering:

  • Find an adviser by contacting faculty members in the field. For candidates who have not found an advisor, the faculty will conduct discussions twice a year.
  • It is recommended to also submit GRE or Tofel scores.
  • international applicants are required to submit a declaration of intent.
  • Letter of intent:The research statement is 1-2 page document meant to give the admissions committee an insight into your academic achievements and goals.  The document should give a concise summary of your academic background and your research interests and goals.  If you are in contact with a potential advisor, please also describe this interaction.

Recommendations – All applicant must submit two academic recommendations, one of them from the Master’s thesis advisor.. In addition:

  • Applicants for Electrical Engineering will submit three recommendations: from the Master’s thesis advisor, from one of the examiners of the Master’s thesis and from the future advisor. Technion Graduates are exempt from this requirement.
  • Applicants for Material Science and Engineering must submit a research proposal
  • Applicants for Mechanical Engineering will submit 4 recommendations: from the Master’s thesis advisor, from the future advisor and  two additional academic recommendations.
  • Applicants who have studied toward their Master’s Degree in the Technion in the three years prior to applying are exempt from this requirement for all programs except Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering.

Additional documents for Mechanical Engineering:

Letter of intent, thesis (PDF format), PhD research topic and proposal (3-5 pages) and papers (PDF) if published.

Additional documents for Aerospace Engineering:

After submitting all registration documents applicants should submit a research proposal as specified at the faculty website.
