The Faculty of Biology offers graduate programs leading to a Master of Science (MSc) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). These programs are designed for graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in life sciences, as well as for graduates of other scientific and engineering disciplines, subject to the completion of necessary academic prerequisites.
The core focus of the graduate studies is innovative scientific research. Students investigate fundamental biological questions, develop approaches to address them, gain experience with advanced experimental techniques, and learn to analyze data and derive insights. The goal is to cultivate independent thinking, deep analysis of research findings, and familiarity with scientific literature and the latest developments in various life sciences fields.
The faculty’s research areas are diverse and include computational biology, cellular and molecular biology, genetics, neurobiology and behavior, biotechnology, bioinformatics, marine biology, plant sciences, and more.
