1) Published summary
A file in the format of a published summary will be uploaded to the portal>>Campus>> “MY Graduation” along with an additional copy, signed by the advisor.
Here are the Instructions for creating the abstract.
2) Confirmation from the Central Library for no book debt
The central library will check whether the student has Technion books on loan. If they do not have books in their possession, a confirmation will be given in the system. If they have the books in their possession, an email will be sent to the student and he/she will have to return the books to the library.
3) Departmental library’s Approval for depositing the thesis
The following should be sent to the departmental library (no need to upload to the portal):
- A PDF file of the final version of the thesis. Appendices of any kind (incl. video, audio, graphs, maps, texts etc.) need to be contained separately in one ZIP file.
- The deposit form completed and signed by the student and the advisors.
- A student requesting that his thesis will not be permitted for review on the Internet and on the Technion’s internal network or on the internet alone will submit a request to delay the publication of the thesis – according to the instructions in the deposit form for the library.
- For your convenient, you can complete an Online deposit form.
- Please note: For the purpose of research identification, you will need to open an ORCID profile. Instructions are included in the deposit form and are available on the Technion Libraries portal.
- The request to delay the publication should be sent to the Graduation Procedure Office before sending the thesis PDF file to the library.
The request should include:
-
- The reason for the delay.
- The time period for the delay- one or two years.
- Is the requested delay related to the thesis PDF file and the published summary or only to the thesis PDF file.
- An approval and signature of the advisor/s.
After the request will be processed, the approval of the Jacobs Graduate School’s dean will be sent by email to the student, the advisor and the departmental library.
The thesis will be converted in the library to PDF format, including protection from changes and will be stored in a digital database designated for Technion users and other users, according to the approval. Please ensure that after the performance of the conversion process of the thesis file into PDF format, it may be searched for in English (whether referring to the main language or whether this is referring to a secondary language). The file may be converted in a manner that will permit search in two languages (English/Hebrew).
In addition, if the department has additional requirements, or if a “entry/exit” form is required – their completion and submission to the department must be confirmed.
