    English for Graduate Degree Studies

All graduate students must pass the Advanced English requirement unless they have passed the requirement in a different Graduate program at the Technion or are eligible to an exemption as specified below.

Passing the Advances English in any way (as an exam, course or exemption) will grand the student 2 points credit in addition to the credit requirements of their academic program.

The Process of Passing “Advanced English”:

    1. First semester – students must take the Advanced English test; registration to the course is not mandatory at this stage. Students who pass the exam (a grade of 65 at least) have filed their English requirements. Registration to the exam is online at: https://humanities-reg.web.technion.ac.il/
    2. Second semester – students who didn’t pass or didn’t take the English exam during the first semester must register to the Advanced English course and pass the test by the end of the second semester. Students have to register to course number 3280013. Students in a research track may register to course 3280014 as an alternative. The registration is done at: https://humanities.technion.ac.il/
    3. Third semester – students who didn’t pass the exam will get a final chance to pass it during the third semester. We will terminate the studies of students who didn’t pass the exam at this stage. Students have to register to course number 3280013. Students in a research track may register to course 3280014 as an alternative. The registration is done at: https://humanities.technion.ac.il/

The studies of students who haven’t passed the exam by the end of the third semester will be terminated.

After the termination of the studies, the student will be able to register for the course and the exam through the School of Continuing Education at a cost of 200 NIS for participating in the course and 300 NIS for participating in the exam.

If the requirement is fulfilled within one semester from the date of termination of studies, a new application for admission will not be required.
