    Requirements for PhD Program


    PhD candidates who intend to study as external students (not as full time-scholarship recipients), are required to submit a detailed letter guaranteeing to dedicate at least three days towards their research (on Technion campus or outside it). The letter is to be supported by their employer and approved by the departmental Graduate Committee.


    Receiving a PhD degree requires the fulfillment of the following conditions:

    A. Meeting course requirements, in which a grade lower than 65 indicating failure.
    B. Meeting language requirements
    C. Carrying out original research
    D. Passing a candidacy examination
    E. Submitting a research thesis and having it approved by the examiners
    F. Passing the final examination
