Graduate studies have been held at the Technion since 1948, and the School of Graduate Studies was officially founded in 1956. Master’s and third degree studies are held in almost all academic units at the Technion. Since its establishment, the school has trained approximately 22,230 master’s degree holders and approximately 5,300 doctoral degree holders in engineering, sciences, architecture, medicine and teaching.

The admission requirements to the graduate school at the Technion are high and the accepted students are among the best in Israel. The studies at the Technion are very challenging and the academic level is high. Students may have to complete and study some courses, but it is worth making an effort to become a student and a member of the research community of one of the world’s best research universities. In the university rankings, the Technion ranks high and Technion graduates led Israel to become “the startup nation”. Many of the entrepreneurs of the successful start-up companies are graduates of the Technion, and in the established hi-tech companies Technion graduates are preferred over graduates of the other universities in Israel. Furthermore, the graduates form the avenue of management and development of the economy in Israel and they have left their mark on all areas of life in the State of Israel.

Students are able to learn from researchers who are among the leaders in their field in the world and be exposed to and be a partner in groundbreaking research. For students who devote full time to studying for the Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), the Jacobs Graduate School offers improved conditions, a large number of scholarships (one of the best in Israel), merit scholarships and awards, dormitories on the green campus and financing active participation in conferences abroad.

Through its Graduate School, the Technion offers a multitude of diverse graduate programs in MSc and PhD research tracks and in a professional ME track (without a thesis).
