Technion considers the participation of research graduate students in scientific conferences abroad as highly important. Consequently, the Graduate School supports scholarship recipient students through travel grants. The purpose of these grants is to enable excellent graduate students to actively participate in international scientific conferences, i.e. presenting a paper or poster.
The travel grant is provided on the basis of excellence of the scholarship recipient, as presented / as appears in scientific publications, course grades and recommendation letters.
General Information
- A request to receive a travel grant from the graduate school must be submitted through the “Graduate students’ travel abroad / absence from Technion for scholarship recipients” form, with the inclusion of all of the documents required, as stated in the request form. Requests that are submitted without all of the required documents will not be addressed.
- An application may be submitted for a paper or poster related to the student’s field of research at the Technion.
- The request and required documents must be submitted one month before travel.
- The travel grant will only finance part of the travel expenses for participation in the conference. The amount of the School’s travel grant will be determined by a committee (the Graduate School vice Dean and the head of the Scholarships Office) based on the academic achievements and significance of the travel, and subject to budget limitations.
- Receiving travel expenses funds for a conference abroad from the Technion Graduate School is subject to supplementary support from the supervisor/academic department.
- Answers to requests (positive or negative) are sent to the Technion email addresses of the students.
